TRAS 55th Annual General Meeting

You are cordially invited to the 55th Annual General Meeting of the Trans-Himalayan Aid Society. We’ll have a short business meeting, including a presentation on the new Societies Act and a draft of our new bylaws, as well as a review of TRAS activities for the past year. And of course it’s always a good opportunity to catch up with people!
 
There will be refreshments and handicrafts for sale.
 
The meeting will be at the TRAS office at Vantage Point, in downtown Vancouver: 1183 Melville St., Vancouver, BC. Doors open at 6:30 pm, meeting starts at 7 pm.
Parking is available on the street or in the parkade just east of the office.
 
Melville Street runs one way from the east. The office is between Thurlow and Bute.
 
Close to the Burrard Skytrain Station and to buses on Georgia and Burrard Streets. In case of difficulty, call 604-224-5133.

Himalaya Program: Understanding Nepal after the 2015 earthquakes

The Himalaya Program at UBC is organizing two public events on Nepal‘s recovery after the 2015 earthquakes: a public lecture on Friday evening, September 15, at UBC, and a community forum on Sunday afternoon, September 17, at Robson Square. Please note that the community forum will be in Nepali, so it’ll be of most interest to Nepali-speakers.

Join the Himalaya Program and NCSBC as we welcome a diverse set of visiting scholars for a discussion and Q&A about the various forces affecting Nepal‘s current governance, as well as the Nepali-speaking public’s perspectives and involvement. The four scholars are visiting from Nepal and the USA, and this discussion will be held in Nepali language.
